Abstract
Today, cultural diplomacy is one of the most attractive and influential phenomena in the field of international communication. Every country plans and implements cultural diplomacy activities based on its declared goals in order to provide the best performance and obtain desirable results. The Islamic Republic of Iran, based on its priorities, engages in activities in the field of cultural diplomacy in its target countries. One of the target regions of the Islamic Republic of Iran is Pakistan. Iran-Pakistan relations have continued since the first days of Pakistan's independence and cultural relations and cross-cultural communication between nations and countries have a long history. Iran's cultural advisors, as the country's official representatives, have had extensive activities in the culture houses of different cities of Pakistan, which are analyzed in the current article on the consultation period of Shahid Seyed Mohammad Ali Rahimi (1995-1996) To determine the effects and function of the cultural diplomacy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Pakistan.
The approach of the current research is a qualitative approach and in order to collect research data, a research document and a semi-structured interview used. The fields of "cultural diplomacy" and "intercultural communication" have formed the theoretical framework of the research. Thematic analysis method used to analyze the research data using MAXQDA software. After the investigations, it was determined that the results of the implementation of cultural diplomacy in Pakistan are: People turn to the culture house, Taking the example of colleagues from Shahid Rahimi, promotion of Persian language, increase of unity among Muslims of Multan, increase of positive view of Pakistani people towards the Islamic Republic of Iran.
