Abstract
Today, due to various reasons, we are witnessing an increase in the role of religion in foreign policy. The connection between religion and foreign policy in two forms, prior or posterior, has automatically made it possible to use religion as a tool of foreign policy in the public diplomacy of countries. Based on this, the research, focusing on the US Department of State, is trying to analyze the emerging concept of interfaith dialogue diplomacy. In this direction, by analyzing the content of the policies and programs of the relevant departments, in three parts of basics, concept and method, the model of interfaith dialogue diplomacy of America has been extracted. The results show that the foundations of "the chosen nation and the global call and the representation of divine forces" and the concept of "civil religion" have provided the theoretical support for interfaith dialogue diplomacy for America. Therefore, the innovation of this research, in addition to its topic, can be considered as an inspiration for the design of the interfaith dialogue diplomacy model of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which will be a strategic policy.
