Abstract
Cultural diplomacy is recognized as a key tool for countries seeking to expand economic development and increase global influence. This study examines the impact of cultural diplomacy on economic development, with a particular focus on the Turkish film industry. Turkish films have been able to promote Turkish culture, strengthen cultural exchange, and foster international cooperation, thereby increasing business and investment opportunities. The need for a deeper understanding of how the synergy between culture and economics works, and its role in sustainable and balanced development, has led to the necessity of this research.
This study focuses on concepts such as sustainable economic development and the role of cultural values in economic influence. Sustainable economic development refers to a balance where social, cultural, and economic aspects are considered simultaneously. The research centers on the Turkish film industry as a successful example of cultural diplomacy and its impact on economic growth, aiming to answer the question: How can cultural diplomacy through the film industry impact economic development? Cultural diplomacy, through the use of filmmaking, can promote national values and beliefs, and by building cultural bridges, contribute to strengthening economic diplomacy and sustainable development. The findings of this research may assist policymakers in designing effective cultural-economic strategies.
